1. What is HDTV?

HDTV stands for High Definition Television.  HDTV can have a resolution of more than 1000
horizontal lines of colored dots, which means that an HDTV signal displays roughly four to six times
the detail of an older analog television.  HDTV delivers incredible picture quality and sound.  With
wide-screen cinematic viewing and ultra-sharp focus that is up to five times sharper than standard
definition television.  With Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, you feel like you're right in the
middle of the action.

2. Why is my picture not filling the entire screen?

HDTVs use a different aspect ratio than analog televisions.  Analog televisions have an aspect ratio of
4:3 meaning the screen is 4 units wide for every 3 units high.  HDTV uses an aspect ratio of 16:9,
much like a movie screen; however, not all 16:9 television sets are capable of receiving HDTV
signals.  It's important to confirm that the set you are considering will actually receive and display
high-definition television.

3. What do I need to get HDTV cable service?

4. If I have digital cable and want to add Advanced Cable's
HDTV programming, will I need both a digital converter box
and an HD converter box?

5. How can I get HD programming from broadcast channels?
